Close to 1,000 high schools students will be treated to a hands-on, interactive glimpse into the construction industry during the Tampa Bay Construction Career Day, Feb. 21, 2019 at the Hillsborough County Fairgrounds.

During the event, students have the opportunity to operate heavy machinery and learn about bridge construction, paving, concrete, traffic control, engineering and more. Students will be introduced to the large number of career paths available in the transportation, structural, engineering and building industries. Students learn firsthand about construction careers and interact with representatives from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), engineering firms, contractors and various consultants involved in all aspects of the transportation industry.

Tampa Bay Construction Career Day is hosted by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), Federal Highway Administration, Florida Transportation Builders’ Association (FTBA) and other industry leaders.
