Coral Gables-based Dominion Builders has announced the launch of a new division – DominionAG – which will specialize in the planning, design and construction of agricultural growing facilities.

Under the guidance of Marc Finch, director of operations, the executive team will focus more than 40 years of combined experience in “development and construction, along with expertise in building large-scale greenhouses and hydroponic farms” on these specialized projects.

A release announcing the launch quotes Mark Gemignani, president of Dominion Builders, as saying: “We are proud to launch this new division, which resulted from a demand within the emerging locally-grown vegetable and cannabis industries. DominionAG will offer clients a complete design-build solution that will quickly translate concept to reality.”

He said there is a surge across the country in the demand for locally grown produce and medical marijuana. DominionAG, he says, has “taken a leading position within these rapidly growing supply chains.”

Dominion Builders was involved in the 177,441 sq. ft. BrightFarms’ Chicagoland Greenhouse. The hydroponic farm, located west of Chicago produces roughly one million pounds of produce per year.
