Stevens Construction says construction has begun on PopStroke Sarasota, described as “an experiential golf and casual dining concept merging a dynamic, technologically advanced competitive golf environment with food and beverage.”

Professional golfer Tiger Woods (associated through TGR Design) is reportedly a partner in the venture that is expanding to several Florida communities following the launch of its first site in Fort Myers, The Naples Daily News has reported.

Stevens says in a statement that it will build a two-story 10,934-sq. ft. building, which includes an open-air restaurant with multiple open decks and covered dining areas and bars. PopStroke will also have a commercial kitchen, restrooms, covered playground, beer garden and lobby with retail space.

“The cornerstone of PopStroke is the two 18-hole putting courses designed by TGR Design, which provides options for different skill levels and are unique to each PopStroke location,” Stevens says in an Aug. 18 statement.

The project at 100 University Town Center is scheduled to be completed in early 2022.

Stevens Construction completed the Fort Myers PopStroke location in September 2020.

The Sarasota construction team includes project manager Peter D’Angelo, superintendent Joe Cappuccio, Jr., and project administrator Meagan Niles. MHK Architecture & Planning based in Naples is the architect of record.
