Sunrise is planning to build a dog park in the city, reports South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
Commissioners asked city staff to look into possibly buying land for the park, as well as starting to draw up plans for what the canine park might look like.
The city is looking for a four-acre land right next to Welleby Park on the northwest side, which Florida Power and Light has for sale, according to City Manager Alan Cohen.
The site at Welleby could also be used for other things, if the city buys it, like a kid’s Safety Town, according to city commissioners and city staff.
