SchenkelShultz Architecture and general contractor Owen-Ames-Kimball (OAK) have been chosen as the design-build team for the new Fixed Base Operator (FBO) hangar at the Punta Gorda Airport by The Charlotte County Airport Authority, the contractor said in a Sept. 28 statement. The team will provide design and construction turnkey activities for this project performance, including architectural programming, design, scheduling, and construction services.
The new standalone hangar with office space and restrooms will be located in the Punta Gorda Airport’s Aviation Expansion Area (AviEx) on the north side of the airfield off of Challenger Road. This facility will comprise an approximately 14,400 sq. ft., single-story building with office spaces and restrooms to serve as a base for transient customers flying into and out of the FBO.
OAK’s project manager is Abel Natali, the project superintendent is John Tartaglia, and Matthew Zwack is the principal-in-charge. The SchenkelShultz Architecture team includes project manager Gary Krueger and project designer Nathalie White.
