National Association of Black Women in Construction (NABWIC) is hosting the 12th Annual Meeting from Wednesday Jan. 27 to Friday Jan. 29 at a Jacksonville hotel.
Organizers say “the annual meeting is the premier event for women of color building strategic partnerships in the construction industry on a national level.”
The meeting will include a kick-off reception, Jan. 27 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. EST with local and national guests in attendance. The Annual Meeting will end with the NABWIC Billion Dollar Virtual Transportation Luncheon, Jan. 29, 11:30 am – 1:30 pm EST.
“NABWIC has been the voice of black women and businesswomen in construction for many years. We are excited to host a meeting that creates many strategic partnerships in the construction and pipeline industry at many levels. This meeting will contribute to planning next 50 to 100 years for womens success in the construction industry,” NABWIC founder Ann McNeill said in a statement.
More than 100 women of color leaders in various construction areas are expected to be in attendance onsite and virtually.
Nathaniel P. Ford Sr., Chief Executive Officer with the Jacksonville Transportation Authority and Greg Evans, District 2 Secretary with the Florida Department of Transportation are keynote speakers. The luncheon will also highlight and recognize Rosa Rountree, Chief Executive Officer with Egis Projects, Inc, as the NABWIC Woman in the Spotlight.
Major event sponsors include Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA), Gannett-Fleming, and Black Business Investment Fund (BBIF), the Kick-off reception sponsor.
