Moss Foundation, along with individual members of its team, have donated 137 shoeboxes filled with toiletry items to the Seafarers’ House Christmas Campaign, a yearly drive dedicated to giving back to seafarers arriving to Port Everglades.
Due to the nature of their job, seafarers spend a significant amount of time away from their families. This initiative encourages the local community to donate everyday toiletry items in decorated shoeboxes to give to the seafarers during the holiday season. The organization also accepts monetary donations that are used to purchase additional items or calling cards for them to communicate with their families.
“Seafarers’ House’s overall mission is an admirable cause to support the maritime community at Port Everglades by offering refuge, communication services and other resources while these seafarers are away from home,” said Bob Moss, chairman and CEO of Moss & Associates. “We are thrilled to contribute to this effort. The holidays are very special to us at Moss and being able to support Seafarers’ House in a joint effort with our employees, exemplifies the true meaning of the holiday season.”
Seafarers’ House’s shopping list included such items as toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, soap, shaving cream, disposable razors and additional toiletry items.
The Seafarers’ House recently honored Bob Moss as its 2016 South Florida Business Leader. Honorees are selected by their peers due to their leadership, impact on the community, entrepreneurial background and philanthropic contributions to the South Florida community.
