Moss & Associates says it has recently completed the final hydrostatic slab pour, consisting of 2,000 cu. yd. of concrete, at Auberge Beach Residences & Spa at 2200 North Ocean Blvd., Fort Lauderdale.
This final slab of concrete, which is part of the basement parking garage, will protect the beachfront building against hydrostatic pressure. Construction of the 119,600 sq. ft. basement required excavating 90,000 cubic yards of soil and pouring a total of 15,700 cu. yd. of concrete for the perimeter wall and the hydrostatic slab foundation, the contractor said in a news release.
“I am proud of this team for successfully completing the initial phase of construction at Auberge,” said Alexander Smith, vice president/project executive at Moss & Associates. “The final slab pour was completed in three-and-a-half months after the initial structural concrete was placed – a testament to the hard work and planning by this magnificent team.”
Designed by Nichols Brosch Wurst Wolfe & Associates, the $171 million project consists of two residential towers –18 and 23 stories, respectively – with a total of 161 units. Starting on the second floor of each tower, residences range from one to five bedrooms and 1,500 to 5,000 sq. ft.. Wrap-around, two-level penthouses are also offered, which include more than 3,500 sq. ft. of terraces.
Auberge Beach Residences & Spa, which is being developed by Related Group, offers 450 linear feet of frontage to the Atlantic Ocean and amenities such as a pool deck, spa, cabanas, restaurants, fitness center, library, children’s playroom, business center and a below grade parking garage.
Construction is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2018.
