The City of Kissimmee and Azure Hotel International, Inc. have revealed plans for a convention center and luxury hotel on the site of the current Civic Center, signaling a major step forward in the city’s downtown transformation.
The newly released plan will redevelop the property into a modern convention center and a 10-story, 300-room luxury hotel. The $180 million-plus development, approved by the City Commission through a Master Development Agreement with Azure Hotel International, is expected to bolster Kissimmee as a destination for business, tourism, and community events.

Under the agreement signed last August, Azure will deliver:
- A new 45,000-sq. ft. Convention Center, constructed with no public debt, with designated days reserved for City and community use at no cost.
- A guaranteed annual lease payment of $2.5 million, with yearly escalators, ensuring the City’s contributions are recouped within five years.
- A 5% profit share of the hotel’s net operating income, along with access to meeting space at no cost to the City.
- Strong performance and completion security, protecting taxpayers and guaranteeing project delivery.
“This development is a major step in positioning Downtown Kissimmee as a premier destination for conventions, tourism, and community gatherings,” said city representatives. “It reflects our commitment to growth, investment, and enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.”
A 45,000-sq. ft. convention center will be built, along with restaurants, retail space, and a range of hospitality amenities designed to stimulate economic growth and enhance the downtown area.
Demolition of the existing Civic Center is expected to begin in mid-2026, marking the start of construction.
The project follows the City Commission’s previous approval of the agreement for a new downtown convention center, a move seen as pivotal for the city’s long-term economic and cultural development.
