Granite has been awarded a $41 million contract by Orange County, Florida, to complete a series of roadway and intersection improvements designed to reduce congestion and enhance traffic flow along a heavily traveled commercial corridor.
The All American Boulevard Construction and Kennedy Boulevard Widening project, marks a significant milestone for the company as its first direct contract with Orange County. The contract value will be included in Granite’s second-quarter 2026 Capital Acquisition Program (CAP), according to the company.
The infrastructure improvements will include construction of a new alignment for All American Boulevard, highlighted by a new intersection at Clarcona Ocoee Road and Edgewater Drive. Additional work will focus on widening Kennedy Boulevard and upgrading the intersection of Kennedy Boulevard and Forest City Road to improve capacity and mobility for motorists.
Project funding is being provided through a partnership between Orange County Public Works and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), with additional support from Orange County Utilities.
“This project represents a pivotal milestone for Granite as our first direct contract with Orange County,” said David Ballard, Regional Vice President for Granite. “Orange County has been a key stakeholder on other projects we’ve delivered in the Orlando area, and we are excited to partner directly with the County and build on those positive relationships while delivering this important project.”
County officials have identified the corridor as a priority area for transportation improvements as continued growth places increasing demands on existing infrastructure. The project is expected to enhance connectivity, improve traffic operations, and support future development in the surrounding area.
Construction is scheduled to begin in June 2026, with substantial completion anticipated in January 2029.
The award further strengthens Granite’s presence in Central Florida, where the company has played a role in delivering transportation infrastructure projects aimed at supporting the region’s rapid population and economic growth.
Once completed, the roadway enhancements are expected to improve safety, reduce travel delays, and provide long-term transportation benefits for residents, businesses, and commuters throughout northwest Orange County.
