FRONTIER Building says it has broken ground on a Wawa gas station and convenience store in Miami-Dade County.

The 6,119-sq.-ft. project site is located on Coral Way near Southwest 72nd Ave. in Miami.

“Building out one of Miami-Dade County’s first Wawa is a proud moment for us,” Andrew Goggin, director of construction at FRONTIER Building, said in a statement. “Wawa is an impressive national brand with a strong presence in the northeast and we’re excited to have been given the opportunity to build one in our backyard.”

Structural work and underground utilities have started at the site this month. The project is set to be completed in January 2019.
