The Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC), the certifier of green projects and local governments in the state, has announced the application deadline for its statewide scholarship program created for deserving students pursuing careers in the green built environment or related sustainability studies.
In 2000, the non-profit FGBC brought together industry professionals from the construction, government, academic and research communities to create green building standards tailored specifically to Florida.
The FGBC has certified over 25,000 projects “Florida Green” since being founded. Scholarships like this, now in its fifth year, promote educational opportunities for individuals to build successful construction careers within the green building industry. This year, FGBC will be offering three $1,000 scholarships.
Applications are due by April 15, 2021, for the 2021-2022 academic year. Finalists will be announced in the spring.
Each award recipient will also receive a FGBC membership for one year and can participate on FGBC committees and events.
