Jack Cox, president of Halfacre Construction Company, and Jeff Charlotte, president of J.E. Charlotte Construction Corp., are launching Business Spotlights with Jack and Jeff, a weekly radio show that will broadcast on Sarasota News Radio’s 1320 AM, 1450 AM and 103.9 FM every Tuesday from noon – 1 p.m.
A news release says the program will focus on business and community topics affecting Sarasota and Manatee Counties. The inaugural show aired on May 30 with Dave Beesley and PJ Brooks from First Step of Sarasota and recovering former addict Justin Halas to discuss the heroin epidemic locally.
“This radio show is a great opportunity to shine a spotlight on the relevant issues that affect our business community,” said Cox. “Jeff and I look forward to highlighting various leaders in the for-profit and nonprofit sections to bring these issues to the forefront.”
The radio show’s June 6 show will highlight the state of Sarasota County Schools with BJ Ivey, Sarasota County’s 2017 Teacher of the Year, and Superintendent Todd Bowden. Future guests include Sarasota County Sheriff Tom Knight, Manatee County Sheriff Ricky Wells, Mireya Eavey, Ron Dipillo, Mike Quillen, Troy Syprett, Michael Klauber and District 71 state House candidates Will Robinson and James Buchanan.
“It’s important to us to recognize all the good that businesses and business leaders are doing for our community,” said Charlotte. “As residents and business owners, we live, work and play here, and we want to acknowledge the positive news as well as the issues facing our area.”
