The City of Miami and Adler Development celebrated the groundbreaking of a new government administration building this month, a significant milestone in the ongoing transformation of the city’s landscape.

The building was designed by Arquitectonica and Moss Construction will serve as the general contractor for the project.

Scheduled for completion in 2027, the eight-story, 382,592-sq. ft. building will be a key component of the larger Miami Freedom Park project—a 130-acre mixed-use development that promises to redefine the city’s urban fabric. In addition to housing the highly anticipated new soccer stadium for Inter Miami CF, the park will offer a hub for innovation, sports, and community engagement.

The new administration building will feature government offices on eight floors, along with an attached parking garage capable of accommodating 889 vehicles. Situated near Miami International Airport, the facility will provide modern office space for city operations, enhancing government accessibility and efficiency.

“This groundbreaking marks a defining moment as we lay the foundation for a new era in the City of Miami,” said David Adler, CEO of Adler Development. “The state-of-the-art facility will meet the evolving needs of the city while serving as a testament to the power of public-private partnerships. Together with the City of Miami, we’re turning a bold vision into reality.”

Mayor Suarez expressed his enthusiasm for the project, calling it a symbol of the city’s forward-thinking vision. “This groundbreaking represents the future of Miami’s administration, exemplifying our commitment to innovation and progress. We are building a Miami that is not only resilient but also more connected and accessible to its residents.”

“This new building will reflect our commitment to a vibrant, efficient, and responsive government,” said City Manager Art Noriega. “It’s designed to enhance our ability to serve the public while fostering a welcoming environment for all.”

The Jan. 15 groundbreaking event marks the beginning of what is expected to be a transformative development for both the city’s governance and its residents, integrating public service with world-class amenities in one of Miami’s most dynamic new districts, says a news release.
