The City of Jacksonville issued a permit to Amazon to install a material handling system in its 1 million-sq.-ft. fulfillment center, reports the Jax Daily Record.
The project will cost $41 million and is being built at 10501 Cold Storage Rd. in Imeson Park. The contractor is Vanderlande Industries.
In addition, the city is reviewing a permit application from the company for installation of a free-standing rack pick module at a cost of almost $14 million, according to the report.
The online retailer wants to open the fulfillment center in fall 2021.
