In Florida, the number of construction projects grew nearly five percent in the second quarter of 2015 compared to same time period in 2014.
According to the BidClerk Construction Index (BCI), a quarterly report from BidClerk, nearly 1,800 projects with a combined contract value of almost $7 billion were released for bid in the second quarter of 2015. Areas in the report included Jacksonville, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Tallahassee, Tampa, and St. Petersburg.
High profile Florida projects out for bid in the second quarter included:
- Space Coast Credit Union headquarters
- A $30 million office plus parking garage project in Melbourne
- Building Management Systems, general contractor, with Krehl Architect
- Prospect Park
- $24 million construction of a four-story apartment complex and retail space in Pinellas County
- ZMG Construction, Inc., general contractor, with Baker Barrios Architects
