Women from all walks of life are gearing up to make a difference in Hillsborough County through the Women Build event organized by Habitat for Humanity.Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County is set to host the spring event starting April 2, marking its fifth annual Women Build. Teams comprising 10 individuals each are tasked with raising funds to finance the construction project, with a target of $600 per individual and $6,000 per team. Through a series of pre-build events including the Women Build Kickoff and Women Build Empower Celebration, volunteers will have the opportunity to network, strategize, and gather essential resources for their fundraising endeavors.

Women Build is about empowerment, calling on women to step up and address the pressing issue of affordable housing. Over the span of 8 to 12 weeks, volunteers will construct a Habitat home for a family.

The program goes beyond construction; it represents a call to action for women eager to effect positive change in their communities. With tools and guidance provided on-site, participants need no prior experience, only a willingness to roll up their sleeves and make a meaningful contribution.

A Home Dedication ceremony will be held where volunteers witness the moment when keys are handed over to the grateful family, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.

Every dollar raised contributes directly to the construction of the Women Build home, ensuring that each contribution, no matter how small, leaves an indelible mark on the community.

Volunteer Build Day is scheduled for June 8 for more information on how to participate or become a sponsor, contact Callie Lupica at clupica@habitathillsborough.org.
