About 275 Florida Power and Light (FPL) linemen who will be working to repair damage caused by Hurricane Milton have been offered free accommodation at Former President Donald Trump’s Doral Miami resort.
Eric Trump shared a video on social media of the linemen arriving at the site.
“Honored to have 275 incredible linemen from FPL at @TrumpDoral as they get ready to respond to the aftermath of Hurricane #Milton,” he said. “You are amazing and the Trump Family, and entire state of Florida, appreciates you! Enjoy the rooms – they are the best in Florida! Be safe!”
FPL is one of the largest electric utility companies in the United States, serving millions of customers in Florida.
More than 2.2 million people are now without power due to the hurricane.“We are ready to restore power as Hurricane Milton brings severe weather,” Kamrel Eppinger, an FPL spokesman posted on X. “Customers should be prepared for extended outages. The unprecedented storm’s catastrophic conditions and recent heavy rain will likely cause significant damage and restoration challenges, but our restoration workforce of more than 17,000 men and women is ready to respond quickly as soon as it is safe to do so.
Eppinger also warned residents using generators to follow the safety precautions including keeping generators outdoors and away from windows.
