A resort-style rental community is being planned for Stuart.

Designed for active seniors, The Sovana at Stuart will be located at 1950 Northwest Federal Highway.

The design will feature 182 one- and two-bedroom apartments in three- and four-story buildings, plus a stand-alone, 15,000-sq.-ft. clubhouse with a range of amenities, including a resort-style pool, a living room with a fireplace, a commercial kitchen, a game room, an arts and crafts room, a media center, a fitness center and yoga studio, a private salon and spa, a pickleball court, a bocce ball court and a dog park. The site is surrounded by a nature preserve complete with walking trails.

Total construction cost is estimated at $28 million. The project is expected to be completed by late 2020.

The project’s developer is the United Group of Companies and the contractor is West Palm Beach-based Verdex Construction.

“This community will help address this need for additional 55+ active living housing in Florida, and for Verdex, it marks our first project in this sector,” said Verdex president Rex Kirby.

Recent Verdex projects include the Canopy Hotel in West Palm Beach, Sabbia Beach Condominiums in Pompano Beach and Town Southern apartments in Royal Palm Beach.
