Seagate works with EmCyte on continuing Ft. Myers plant, office expansions

Seagate Development Group says it is preparing to start work on another expansion at EmCyte Corporation’s headquarters in Fort Myers.

Seagate says the bio-tech company has requested the renovation of an engineered space in its original building at 4331 Veronica S. Shoemaker Blvd.

The developer says it has just about completed  EmCyte’s $2.2-million project – a 13,000-plus-sq. ft. climate-controlled warehouse addition for medical devices and a nearly 2,000-sq. ft.  office suite and lab in the original building. Seagate also completed the renovation of its approximately 5,000-sq. ft. manufacturing space.

“When president and CEO Patrick Pennie described his vision for his company, we knew we were going to be part of something bigger than ourselves,” Matt Price, CEO and partner at Seagate Development Group, said in a Feb. 10 statement. “Our team thought a lot about the use of the facility today and in the future as well as the economic value it’s bringing to Southwest Florida. As a result, we’re ready for the next steps, regardless of the size and scope.”

Plans for a fifth EmCyte phase of exterior renovations are in the works.
