Rockford Construction, a Grand Rapids, MI.-based firm, has named two new project managers who will work from its southeastern regional headquarters in Estero.

Ron Marra and Jay Cartwright, will “be instrumental in expanding Rockford’s presence throughout Florida,” the company said in a statement.

Cartwright has been in the construction industry for nearly 30 years, and has handled more than $600 million in projects for municipal, civil, health care, commercial, retail and residential clients.

Meanwhile, Marra has more than 30 years of construction experience, with 20 of those years having been in Southwest Florida. His previous roles include project manager, building code administrator, general contractor and estimator. Companies Marra has worked for include Wright Construction Group and Manhattan Construction Co.

“We are thrilled to have Jay and Ron on board. Their senior-level experience will serve our clients well throughout Florida,” Eric Monroe, Rockford’s vice-president, southeast region,  said in a statement. “Rockford Construction looks forward to expanding its footprint and is confident in the project management and leadership both Jay and Ron bring to the team.”

The Business Observer reports the contractor is currently working on the renovation of Bell Tower Shops in Fort Myers, among other projects in Florida.

The Bell Tower revamp was in the planning stages for 3 ½ years, including market research and evaluating industry trends, before it started being executed earlier this year, News-Press.com reports. RSP Architects and Principal, a financial investment management company, are part of the project.

Rockford was founded in 1987, and is ranked by Engineering News-Record as one of the top 200 contractors in the nation.
