Orlando Health is seeking permits to begin the construction on its planned 73.6-acre medical campus in Horizon West.
In September, the hospital submitted an application to Orange County that would allow it to secure building permits before a plan is recorded with the county, Orlando Business Journal has reported.
If approved, it would clear the way for work to begin on the first phase of the Orlando Health Horizon West campus, beginning with a $45 million, 70,000 sq. ft. freestanding emergency room.
The new Horizon West campus will include outpatient diagnostics, labs, telemedicine technology, physician offices for primary care doctors and specialists, and a human performance and wellness center.
Orlando Health Central Inc. spent a total of $5 million on the site, which includes a 36-acre parcel it bought in 2012 and a 37-acre parcel it bought in 2014.
