Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, a global cruise company which operates Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises brands, has broken ground on a new terminal at PortMiami.

The 166,500-sq.-ft. terminal will accommodate ships of up to 5,000 passengers and will feature state-of-the-art technology to support faster and more efficient embarkation and disembarkation, as well as expedited security screening and luggage check-in, Norwegian Cruise Line said in a press release.

The spiraled and multi-level façade, transcendental and glass-encased building will be constructed to LEED-Silver standards and will be “a modern architectural masterpiece”, according to the company.

Construction is expected to begin May 1. The terminal is scheduled for completion by the fall of 2019.
