Miller Construction Company says it has begun site work on a new service garage for Vista BMW of Pompano Beach, which belongs to Pompano Imports, Inc., is part of the South Motors Automotive Group. The project at 744 North Federal Highway features two stories and will be completed in two phases.

A 56,000-sq. ft. tilt wall structure housing the service garage will adjoin the Vista BMW showroom. The first story will have 18-foot ceilings supported by precast joists. It is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2022.

The project team includes FSMY Architects and Planners, Kamm Consulting (MEP), Bryntesen Engineers (Structural) and Botek Thurlow Engineering (Civil).

“This project is our fourth with the client and we are honored to be their company of choice when it comes to the construction of their automotive facilities,” Miller president Brian Sudduth said in a June 8 statement. “As experts in the industry, we hope to see new developments and growth across the state that modernize the automotive space.”

The statement says the company will take measures to ensure the safety of employees and customers in the showroom while continuing its normal operations. Sudduth says that his firm always adjusts to client needs and plans accordingly during the preconstruction process.

“The Miller team has been great to work with on many of our projects,” said South Motors Automotive Group CEO Jonathan Chariff. “The new service garage will be a great addition to our BMW facility and will allow us to serve the south Florida community more effectively.”

In the second phase, which will be completed in the first quarter 2023, the old service garage will be demolished to make room for additions that include a vehicle ramp to the second level and open-air, canopied parking.
