The Miami-Dade County Commission has changed its stadium deal with the Miami Dolphins to provide additional subsidy for the development of a new training facility next to the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, The Miami Times reports.
The recently-passed resolution, sponsored by District 1 Commissioner Barbara Jordan, will increase the subsidies by $750,000 per year upon completion of a new practice facility and extend the length of the agreement based on the total price tag of the new facility, which would cost at least $50 million to build.
The training facility will be privately funded and expected to be completed by 2020.
