Kaufman Lynn Construction based in Boca Raton says it is is working with the United Way of Broward County to collect food and personal items to be donated to impacted communities throughout South Florida.

Donations of new, non-perishable items can be dropped-off by Thursday, Sept. 21, at noon, to the company’s headquarters at 4850 T-Rex Ave., Suite 300 in Boca Raton.

All items collected will be delivered to The Pride Center at Equality Park in Fort Lauderdale on Friday, Sept. 22, where they will then be distributed to those most in need.

Additionally, the Hurricane Irma Recovery Fund has been set-up by Broward Cares to co-ordinate donations to local storm recovery efforts. One-hundred percent of donations made through BrowardCares.org will be directed to areas critically impacted by Hurricane Irma.

Acceptable drive items: Food, water, new personal items.

Apple sauce/fruit cups, beans (bag and canned), canned meals, canned soups,
canned tuna, canned vegetables, cereal (hot and cold), pasta, peanut butter,
rice, water bottles/jugs, anti-bacterial wipes, cleaning products, combs/brushes, dental floss, deodorant, dish soap, disposable diapers and wipes, gift cards, hand and bath soap, hand sanitizer, laundry detergent, paper towels, shampoo/conditioner, shower sandals, sunscreen, toilet paper, toothbrushes, toothpaste, towels, feminine products, bed linens, pet food

Not accepted:

Items that have been opened or partially-used, products not in their original packaging, homemade or home-canned goods, products that have been contaminated, baby food not in a plastic container, alcoholic beverages or energy drinks, items in glass jars, canned items more than three years old, any kind of medication, expired baby food.
