A Topping Out event at the Old Town Square apartments in Pompano Beach will include a ceremonial tree hoisting to acknowledge the construction milestone.

Local city officials will join the area developer and representatives from Delray Beach-based general contractor Kaufman Lynn Construction at the site at the corner of NE 1st Avenue & NE 3rd Street on Friday, Sept. 23 at noon.

A tree will be hoisted to the top of the structure with a crane to symbolize the highest point of the building structure has been completed.

Also, speakers will discuss aspects of the project and what it means to the community’s redevelopment at a podium. The building as designed by Adache Group Architects.

The Old Town Square Apartments will include 282 luxury multifamily units, an amenity deck, 300 car garage and 5,433 square feet of retail space.

It’s a $72 million project that was delayed by the pandemic. A 10-story tower will have 281 apartments and about 5,000 sq. ft. of retail. Amenities will include a pool deck on the fifth pool, an indoor/outdoor gym, a barbecue gazebo area, a clubhouse, a business center, and a grab-and-go snack bar.
