Florida’s has awarded $25 million to create or expand 19 programs dedicated to strengthening workforce development across Florida.

Funding will provide hands-on experiences in a broad range of career and technical education programs including construction trades.

School districts and Florida College System institutions receiving funding through the Workforce Development Capitalization Incentive Grant in 2023–24 include:

  • Broward County School District : semiconductor business management and analysis, practical nursing, horticulture and many other additional programs.
  • Lee County School District: advanced manufacturing technology, firefighting, electricity.
  • Leon County School District: applied robotics, engineering pathways, welding technology.
  • Nassau County School District: welding technology
  • Lucie County School District: applied robotics, building construction technologies
  • Sumter County School District: welding technology
  • Washington County School District: welding technology
  • Florida State College of Jacksonville: welding and medical assistance
  • Tallahassee Community College: applied robotics, engineering technology
