Florida’s has awarded $25 million to create or expand 19 programs dedicated to strengthening workforce development across Florida.
Funding will provide hands-on experiences in a broad range of career and technical education programs including construction trades.
School districts and Florida College System institutions receiving funding through the Workforce Development Capitalization Incentive Grant in 2023–24 include:
- Broward County School District : semiconductor business management and analysis, practical nursing, horticulture and many other additional programs.
- Lee County School District: advanced manufacturing technology, firefighting, electricity.
- Leon County School District: applied robotics, engineering pathways, welding technology.
- Nassau County School District: welding technology
- Lucie County School District: applied robotics, building construction technologies
- Sumter County School District: welding technology
- Washington County School District: welding technology
- Florida State College of Jacksonville: welding and medical assistance
- Tallahassee Community College: applied robotics, engineering technology
