Tavistock Development Company, a diversified real estate firm and owner of Pier Sixty-Six Hotel & Marina in Fort Lauderdale, has announced the project’s general contractors – Americaribe Moriarty Joint Venture (AMJV), a joint partnership between John Moriarty & Associates of Florida and Americaribe, LLC.
While pre-construction work has been ongoing, official ground-breaking for phase one redevelopment will take place in the first quarter of 2020.
The new Pier Sixty-Six will utilize the prime 22-acre waterfront setting. While the iconic tower with its Pier Top lounge will be preserved and remain a central focal point, new construction will include a 10-story mid-rise hotel building, two-story pool deck and other guest amenities including a signature restaurant, world-class spa and meeting venues; the property’s first residential offerings including waterfront luxury condominiums; 32,000 square feet of retail and office space; and a public marina promenade.
“Moriarty’s local expertise paired with Americaribe’s global prowess make both companies the ideal partner, and we look forward to working with them to realize the tremendous vision we have to create Fort Lauderdale’s new ‘social harbor’,” said Chris Gandolfo, vice president of development and construction at Tavistock Development Company.
“Tavistock’s thoughtful approach aligns with the way our team focuses on planning and executing every detail of the project to ensure the most efficient construction experience possible,” added John Leete on behalf of the JV. “The Americaribe Moriarty Joint Venture allows us to leverage our combined expertise to reimagine this future Fort Lauderdale icon.”
The hotel renovation is expected to be complete in 2022.
The Pier Sixty-Six Marina, which remains open during the renovation, serves as the gateway into the yachting capital of the world with 5,000 linear feet of deep-water dockage. Pier Sixty-Six Hotel & Marina is one of the cornerstone properties of the Tavistock Hotel Collection.
