Housing officials from throughout Flagler County are holding a forum focused on housing policy and affordability from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 17.

“From Blueprint to Action: Local Strategies for Housing Policy Advancement” will be a luncheon-style forum. Participants will be able to ask questions of the panelists and provide their input on housing policy.

“We know this is early notice, but we want to provide ample notice for people to get this on their calendars,” said Flagler County Housing Program Manager Devrie Paradowski. “There will be a presentation by Florida Housing Coalition on local policy tools with updates on the Live Local Act: ‘With Live Local Act, should local governments do anything more to facilitate affordable housing development?’ among other topics.”

Tickets to attend this luncheon forum are available through Eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/housingpolicy-forum-tickets-837483695277?aff=oddtdtcreator.

Panelists will include:

  • Scott Culp, principal of the Atlantic Housing Partners (for-profit affordable housing developer)
  • Bill Lazar, executive director of the St. Johns Housing Partnership (non-profit affordable housing developer)
  • Annamaria Long, executive officer of the Flagler Home Builders Association
  • Maeven Rogers, chief sustainability and resiliency officer for the City of Palm Coast
  • Kody Glazer, chief legal and policy officer for the Florida Housing Coalition with expertise in land use law, affordable housing, planning and development, and policy implementation

The moderator will be Valerie Clymer, vice chair of the joint City of Palm Coast and Flagler County Affordable Housing Advisory Committee.

“We are looking forward to a wonderful forum and have invited others to the panel who have tentatively accepted,” Paradowski said. “Please clear your calendar and get your tickets to attend.

“We plan to facilitate conversations that lead to solutions for advancing affordable housing policy considerations.”
