ANF Group, Inc. has placed the first concrete panel wall at the new Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) training facility located in Fort Lauderdale.
The BSO Training Center is an 88,000 sq. ft. design-build project dedicated to training law enforcement officers from across Broward County.
Construction is expected to be completed in November 2023. The project is designed to meet Class “A” Office Building standards. The general contractor is ANF Group, and the architect is Saltz Michelson Architects.
“Today is a very special day as we place the first concrete panel for BSO’s new Regional Training Facility,” said Al Fernandez, president of ANF Group. “We appreciate the partnership with BSO to build this expansive, cutting-edge project.”
Led by ANF’s design-build team of architects and engineers, the BSO Training Facility is a 7-story building with a 5-story parking garage with 700+ parking spaces and a 2-story training space.
The facility will be equipped with administrative offices, 250-seat auditorium, classrooms and training rooms, fire rescue simulation labs, a rappel tower, indoor firearm ranges, and all necessary support spaces to house the BSO Training Division’s administrative offices.
“BSO was founded 107 years ago, and the agency has never had its own on-site training center. That will change with this innovative facility,” Broward Sheriff Gregory Tony said. “This facility will provide the necessary level of training to address today’s public safety challenges.”
