DeAngelis Diamond breaks ground on Margaritaville Beach Resort in Fort Myers Beach

Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers Beach celebrated its groundbreaking on Aug. 13

Put on by the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce and Fort Myers Beach Friends of the Arts, the celebration included the DeAngelis Diamond project team, developers, local and regional business, political leaders, and Margaritaville supporters, the construction manager said in a statement.

“After more than five years of being involved in this incredible project, we are so excited to finally break ground on the Margaritaville Resort,” says co-founder John DeAngelis. “The perseverance of Tom Torgerson’s TPI team is nothing short of incredible. These hotel rooms, and amenities are far more than concrete, steel, and glass; They will welcome people from around the country and the world to relax and be entertained while significantly adding to our economic development on Ft. Myers Beach and all of SW Florida.”

The four-story beach-side resort, situated on seven acres at the entrance of Fort Myers Beach, includes 254 island-inspired rooms, two beachside restaurants, a 22,000 sq. ft. terrace restaurant with unobstructed views of the Gulf of Mexico, beach club, coffee shop, and more. The project is scheduled to complete Summer 2023.

Margaritaville Beach Resort is one of DeAngelis Diamond’s current hospitality projects, with similar developments in preconstruction and newly completed. DeAngelis Diamond recently completed Arthrex, Inc.’s 172,459 sq. ft. INNovation Hotel in Naples, FL and Parks Hospitality’s newest Tru by Hilton hotel in Franklin, TN.
