Hinckley Yacht Services has broken ground on a 40,000-sq.-ft. storage building in Stuart.
The new building is expected to be ready by next spring and will cost around $4 million, according to general manager Eric Hruska.
The climate-controlled storage facility will be hurricane-rated to Broward and Dade counties’ standards designed to withstand Category 5 storms.
The new building is needed because of “the growth of our business in Florida and a desire to respond to customer requests for climate-controlled storage and storm protection,” Peter Saladino, Hinckley’s chief marketing officer, said in a statement.
“We will be able to store over 60 boats in the facility, making Hinckley Yacht Services the largest full-service yacht yard with-climate controlled storage in Stuart,” Saladino noted.
