B&I Contractors, Inc., congratulates Jeff Zenoniani on a successful career of 28 years with B&I. Jeff announced his planned retirement as Special Projects Department Manager at the end of the company’s fiscal year in October of 2023. B&I’s leadership team and staff wish Jeff all the best as he marks the end of his work chapter and looks forward to the exciting adventures ahead.

Embracing the change, B&I is pleased to announce the promotion of Gena Knight, MSE to Special Project Department Manager. Gena has over nine years’ experience as a Project Engineer and Project Manager for numerous commercial and institutional HVAC, plumbing, and electrical jobs within the healthcare, K-12, higher education, and government sectors.

Gena joined the construction industry in 2005 and graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) Whitaker College of Engineering with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 2012 and a Master’s in Renewable Energy Engineering in 2019 all while raising her 4 children and working full time without compromising her professional duties.

“Gena’s humility, thankful heart, and her ability to work closely with her co-workers to build strong and impactful teams is only one reason why she has earned her new role on our leadership team”, said Gary Griffin, CEO of B&I Contractors, Inc.

Gena possesses a deep passion for education and seeks to mentor and develop teams and a way to give back. She seeks to challenge stereotypes and inspire others to pursue and achieve their career goals. Her belief in B&I’s company core values of Quality, Integrity, Teamwork and Safety is also a strong part of her leadership style.

  1. Congratulations Jeff and I know whatever your endeavors you will excel as it is your nature. I met Jeff on a Project in 2008 on what used to be Edison State College Campus, Ft Myers. We now know it as Florida Southwestern State College and the project was Bob Rauschenberg Art Gallery. The Gallery had all new HVAC installed and we installed a state of the art LED Lighting System. These updates allowed curators from around the world to assess the Gallery to qualify it to show historic Artifacts that were environmentally sensitive to air and lighting like original clothing worn by such dignitaries as Queen Anne dating back to 1774.
