Balfour Beatty’s Florida operations selected for $70 million in special project works

Osceola County Fire Rescue and EMS recently joined the Osceola County Board of County Commissioners and County leadership to officially break ground on Fire Station 83 on North Marigold Avenue in Poinciana.

The station, expected to be completed in late 2025, follows construction of stations 85, 71, and 75, Station 83 will be the department’s 19th fire station facility and the 6th station construction project completed by the department since 2023.

Project partners include Balfour Beatty, Ardmore Roderick and BRPH Architects.

It is one of several projects worth more than $70 million awarded to Balfour Beatty across Central and South Florida including:

  • Crooked Can Brewery’s construction of a new 40,000-sq. ft. brewery in Minneola. Construction is expected to start early 2025 with completion in Spring 2026.
  • The adaptive reuse of Asana Partners’ Minnesota Row Business Center in Winter Park. The hospitality project for the repeat-client transforms the six-building Winter Park Business Center into a mixed-use complex offering office, retail and food and beverage. Construction is underway with expected completion in Spring 2026.
  • The completion of Osceola County’s Fire Station 85, a public/civic project in Kissimmee which included the new construction of a 12,290-sq. ft. station for local responders.
  • The team has also been selected to deliver another fire station for Osceola County, Fire Station 83 which will be the 17th station in the County featuring its innovative prototype design to further enhance emergency services for Kissimmee residents. Construction is underway for the project with expected completion in Summer 2025.
  • The delivery of phase one of Diplomat Beach Resort’s renovations which includes 33,328 square feet of improvements to the existing resort’s porte cochère drop-off, hotel lobby, lobby bar and pool deck.
  • A meeting space renovation at JW Marriott’s Grand Lake Orlando Resort in Hollywood. Renovations to the 197,000-sq. ft. space are being safely executed while the facility continues its reservation operations.
  • Completed and ongoing works for United Airlines in Orlando including employee breakroom renovations and critical maintenance and repairs to its 60-foot-tall South Hangar.
  • The completion of a mixed-use/retail space on behalf of Lapis Retail Landlord and in partnership with Toll Brothers Apartment Living which services Florida International University students, adjacent to the college’s Sweetwater campus in Miami.
