Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Florida East Coast Chapter says that Carlos Cardenas will be its director of political Affairs.
Cardenas will work to expand fundraising and pursue grassroots initiatives vital to the development of Florida’s commercial construction industry, the association says. He will work alongside ABC’s vice-president of government affairs, Carol Bowen.
Cardenas is a government affairs consultant, who has managed multiple field offices in Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade County and has recruited, trained, and led hundreds of different volunteers and interns. He has also successfully managed local municipal races – including current mayor of Boca Raton, Scott Singer’s, mayoral and city council race. He previously worked as the South Florida field director for the Congressional Leadership Fund, one of the largest House Super PACs in the nation.
“Carlos’ background includes extensive experience with presidential, congressional and municipal campaigns throughout South Florida and the Treasure Coast,” said Peter Dyga, president and CEO of ABC’s East Coast Chapter. “As the largest commercial construction association in Florida, our government affairs team works to shed light on the issues that impact contractors and the construction industry around the state. We look forward to our members meeting our newest team member and the initiatives we know Carlos will implement on their behalf.”
Cardenas studied at Florida Atlantic University and Palm Beach State College. He is fluent in Spanish and English.
