ANF Group, Inc. says it has been named general contract for The Kavista, a 282-unit, eight-story residential development in the Village of El Portal neighborhood in Miami-Dade County.
The project at 495 N.E. 83rd St. is being developed by Barrington Brothers LLC, a family-owned and operated company that seeks opportunistic real estate investments throughout South Florida.
“We are excited to be partnering with Barrington Brothers to build their fourth multifamily development in this historic neighborhood,” ANF Group president Al Fernandez said in a May 18 statement. “The Kavista will be a well-amenitized multifamily development for this upcoming, vibrant community and further strengthen its urban corridor.”
The Kavista’s community amenities include 351 parking spaces, a resort-style pool and deck, outdoor grilling area with seating, co-working space, theater, fitness center, and electric vehicle charging stations. In addition, the interior courtyard and landscaping design will have a bird-friendly environment filled with a variety of trees and plants to attract a wide range of popular birds, the statement says.
“This project is our fourth residential development in a historic neighborhood; therefore, it was very important for us to select a general contractor that has expertise in building multifamily projects,” said Barrington Brothers managing director Ken Barrington. “ANF is a well-established firm who’s committed to building quality construction. Their attention to detail and passion for work were among the key factors that influenced our decision.”
Barrington Brothers has created and sustained three multi-housing developments comprising 190 units just across the street from The Kavista.
Founded in 1981, ANF Group is perhaps best known for building the $80 million Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, the $50 million Nova Southeastern University Center for Collaborative Research Facility in Davie, and for its work on approximately 150 different projects for Memorial Healthcare System. ANF is a family-owned and operated business led by Alberto Fernandez, Jr., Nelson Fernandez, and Alberto Gil. “While continuing to maintain its healthcare-sector focus, the firm continues to expand into multifamily, residential, and industrial spaces,” the company says in its news release.
