B&I Contractors, Inc., is proud to support Lee Health’s major healthcare expansion on a 53-acre site at the intersection of Colonial and Jones-Walker Boulevards. The new campus is designed to meet the growing healthcare needs of Southwest Florida while allowing for future expansion.
The project includes a 534,778-sq. ft. hospital with up to 236 private patient rooms at opening, a 125,326-sq. ft. Medical Office Building, an Ambulatory Surgery Center with 18 operating rooms, a 44-bed Emergency Department, rehabilitation and specialty clinics as part of the Lee Health Musculoskeletal Institute, and a 7,600-sq. ft. Child Development Center for employees.
B&I Mechanical is contracted for construction of the hospital, patient tower, and Central Energy Plant. B&I Plumbing is responsible for the hospital, patient tower, Medical Office Building, and Central Energy Plant. B&I Electrical is supporting construction of Levels 1 and 2 of both the hospital and Medical Office Building.
“Population growth has been a constant challenge in this area. This facility will provide much needed access to centralized care and provides space for future growth as well,” said senior project manager Gena Shaffer.
