Work begins on $6.5 million waterfront project in Clearwater

The City of Clearwater broke ground on the $6.5 million planned improvements for the North Marina Area and Seminole Boat Launch at 198 Seminole St., the Tampa Bay Business Journal reports.

The North Marina Master Plan is part of Imagine Clearwater, a master plan to revitalize the downtown Clearwater waterfront area and activate the downtown area.

The Seminole Boat Ramp anchors the North Marina district, which will have new green space, improved parking, new stormwater treatment, a bike path to the waterfront, elevated restrooms, new floating docks and a waterfront promenade.

Nelson Construction of Palm Harbor is performing the construction work. The first phase of the planned improvements should be completed in around nine months.
