The Tampa Housing Authority (THA) and the Related Urban Development Group (RUDG) – the affordable housing arm of leading developer The Related Group – broke ground on The Boulevards at West River in Tampa, the latest project within the larger West River redevelopment plan.
The Boulevards at West River represents the next step in the area’s evolution into a multi-generational, mixed-income community, and will include three mixed-use apartment buildings serving residents across all income brackets. Slated for completion in 2021, Boulevard Towers One, Two and Three will contain 119, 119 and 133 units, respectively.
Floorplans range from one- to three-bedroom apartments spanning 600-1,200 square-feet, and come with expansive kitchens, in-unit washer/dryer and solid flooring throughout. Additionally, each building will contain commercial space, a library with free computer access, state-of-the-art fitness center, game room and community spaces. Two parking garages will service residences and guests.
Previous stages of the West River redevelopment include The Renaissance at West River, which provides public housing, Section 8 and tax credit families; and Mary Bethune Apartments, made up of 150 affordable senior housing units.
Once complete, West River’s redevelopment will include more than 2,000 residential units of affordable, workforce and market-rate rentals, as well as for-sale homes, and nearly 250,000-square feet of commercial and office space.
