Volusia approves $2 million construction contract to Saboungi for boat ramp park

The Volusia County Council approved a $2 million construction contract to Saboungi Construction to turn the Lemon Bluff boat ramp site in Osteen into a full-use project.

It is a popular site to launch crafts onto the St. Johns River for a day of fun on the water.

The project calls for a new boat launch, two floating docks to accommodate launching canoes and kayaks, a fishing area, restrooms, sidewalks, privacy barriers, two pavilions and added parking are ready to take off.

The plan also includes a bulkhead to shore up a crumbling seawall along the river.

Work is expected to take between six and seven months to complete.

  1. Perhaps with this facility, Volusia County can begin to control the ever worsening Airboat noise pollution problem! It’s a nightmare every weekend from the Airboat community noise
