Verdex Construction breaks ground on Airport Logistics Park in Palm Beach

West Palm Beach-based Verdex Construction says it has broken ground on Airport Logistics Park, a new 245,000 sq. ft., Class A industrial warehouse project directly across from Palm Beach International Airport.

Located at 350 N. Haverhill Rd., the project on 39.6 acres is expected to be complete by summer 2020. The project was designed by C4 Architecture in Orlando for developer McCraney Property Company.

“The need for additional warehouse space is immediate as more and more consumers are having items shipped directly to their homes, and Verdex brought the ability to quickly ramp up this project to bring it online within a year,” said Verdex Construction president Rex Kirby.

This is Verdex’s second project for McCraney Property Company, having completed its Turnpike Business Park in 2016.

“Demand remains strong for the greater West Palm Beach market principally due to the lack of alternative space options and the enhanced warehouse need driven by last mile delivery,” said Steven McCraney, president and CEO of McCraney Property Company. “We are building over 8 million sq. ft. across the Southeast so it’s nice to have a new project at home, bringing jobs and warehouse space to our local community.”

In a separate news release, Verdex says it also has broken ground on a newHoliday Inn Express Doral  1691 NW 107th Ave., Dora.l.. The five-story structure will include 75 guest rooms, totaling 50,170 sq. ft., on a one-acre site. The developer is Palma Building LLC with Driftwood Acquisitions and Development acting as owner’s representative.

Construction of the Holiday Inn Express Doral began in mid-October, with completion expected in October, 2020. Amenities include a pool, dining area and meeting rooms.
