Standard Pacific Homes opens sales center in Florida

Standard Pacific Homes has opened its sales center at Watercrest at Parkland, a 450-home lakefront development on land, known as The Wedge, reports Sun Sentinel.

Buyers can tour three model homes and use a high-tech design room to customize selected features, said Dan Grosswald, South Florida president for Standard Pacific, according to the newspaper.

The one- and two-story homes range in price from more than $400,000 to over $1 million. Residents are expected to start moving in early next year. The 12 designs offer one- and two-story floor plans with large open spaces and master suites. Amenities include a clubhouse, fitness center, pool, splash park and a sports complex.

The 288-acre Wedge is off Loxahatchee Road south of the Hillsboro Canal in Parkland. The property used to be part of Palm Beach County, but a 2009 boundary change put it in Broward County.

Irvine, Calif.-based Standard Pacific started sales at Watercrest earlier this year, though Grosswald wouldn’t say how many contracts have been signed so far. But Brad Hunter, a housing consultant with the Metrostudy research firm in West Palm Beach, said the builder should have no trouble selling out quickly.

Many buyers are jumping into the market to beat rising prices and mortgage rates, Hunter said.”There’s a tremendous amount of demand that Watercrest can capture and serve,” he said.
