The City of St. Petersburg has released a request for proposals (RFP) for development partners interested in redeveloping and operating the St. Petersburg Municipal Marina, located downtown, on the western side of Tampa Bay. The RFP closes July 14, 2023.

According to the RFP, the city is looking for a developer and operator that has significant experience in developing and operating marinas in a saltwater environment and similar characteristics.

“Adjacent to the St. Pete Pier, with slips right in the heart of downtown, St. Pete’s Municipal Marina is an anchor point of the Waterfront District,” said James Corbett, city development administrator. “This is just the next step in the revitalization of the marina and we look forward to finding a partner that sees the potential of this landmark in our community.”

RFP details can be found at www.stpete.org/marina.

The marina is composed of docks and support facilities spanning the Central (CYB) and South (SYB) Yacht Basins along our Downtown Waterfront. The CYB docks were built in 1963 and four of the five SYB docks were constructed in 1977. The facilities have been well maintained over the years, but with time and exposure to the aggressive saltwater environment the infrastructure has reached the end of its service life.
