The city of St. Petersburg issued a safety advisory regarding tower cranes earlier today, as Hurricane Milton brought wind gusts exceeding 100 mph, among other devastating impacts.

The following construction sites in downtown St. Pete were listed in this advisory:

The sites were included because the height and design of these tower cranes make them vulnerable to the high winds, according to the advisory. Residents and businesses near the affected construction sites are being urged to either relocate or shelter in place.

“The City’s top priority is the safety and well-being of its residents, and your cooperation during this time is greatly appreciated. In an abundance of caution, roads, sidewalks, and parking zones within the affected areas will be restricted due to the potential public safety hazard,” officials stated in a news release.
