Seagate builds 35,000 structure for Rice Insulation & Glass in Ft. Myers

Seagate Development Group says it has completed the building pad and commenced vertical construction of Rice Insulation & Glass’ 35,000-sq. ft. building at Alico Trade Center in Fort Myers. This will be the first tenant at the 40-acre, Seagate-owned business park.

This freestanding building is projected to be complete in the fourth quarter. Studio+ is the architect, while Quattrone & Associates is the civil engineer.

When completed, it will include 3,000 sq. ft. of office space for sales and management teams, such as a reception area with a workstation, a conference room, four oversized offices with 10 workstations, three standard offices, training and break rooms, and closets and restrooms. Additional space is reserved for a warehouse of insulation, glass, shower door and shelving materials as well as high-dock and grade-level doors and 100 parking spaces. It will be surrounded by other single-tenant, flex and/or industrial buildings.

“We are honored to have Rice participate in our design-build process – during which we serve as the single point of contact and manage all parties involved in the project,” Matt Price, CEO and partner at Seagate Development Group, said in an Aug. 25 statement.

“After discussing their needs, we came up with a solution that should improve operational efficiencies without the typical barriers of a multi-tenant environment they are accustomed to. The Alico Corridor was strategically chosen, based on location within the market and access to I-75.”
