Seagate Development Group says it has broken ground on a 9.71-acre, 45,000-sq. ft. facility for White Cap Construction Supply in Fort Myers. The national building materials supplier’s design-build project is under construction at 16542 Oriole Rd. – off Alico Road in the southwestern Florida community.

Crews are now clearing and filling the site as well as preparing the two building pads for the foundation and slabs. Within the next two months, they will complete all the required infrastructure, including a lift station; water, sewer and fire lines; and drainage.

PDS Architecture is the designer, while Quattrone & Associates is the civil engineer.

Seagate will also erect an 18,000-sq. ft. metal structure for steel fabrication – complete with an overhead crane and steel-bending machines. The main building will feature an expansive 32,990-sq. ft. warehouse, an open-area conference room, a break room and a showroom, among other components.

Seagate is slated to complete the project in mid-October and turn it over before month’s end.

Earlier, the developer said it had purchased the land for the project from Harvey B. Youngquist for $2,760,615. The national building materials supplier’s new location will be adjacent to the upcoming Alico Trade Center being built by Seagate.
