Hoyt Architects has appointed senior project manager George Scarfe as the firm’s newest partner, noting his “steadfast dedication, innovative vision and exceptional leadership”.

A U.S. Navy veteran with deployments to the coasts of Somalia, Bosnia and Haiti, Scarfe began his education in drafting and design in 2000 through the GI Bill. He later earned a Master of Architecture degree from the University of South Florida in 2011 and joined Hoyt Architects following his architectural experience program with the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB).

Scarfe manages a wide range of projects from small-scale retail properties and simple renovations to high-rise skyscrapers and has been recognized for contributing to the design of Hoyt Architects’ projects including One Park Sarasota, Sage Longboat Key, The Mark, Longboat Key Town Center and Karon Family Pavilion, Lofts on Lemon, Aloft Sarasota, One Palm, and The Sarasota Modern.

Throughout his career, Scarfe has exemplified a deep commitment to strengthening the construction community and mentoring industry professionals. He has served in leadership roles and on the boards of professional organizations such as the American Institute of Architects’ (AIA) Gulf Coast Chapter and the Construction Specifiers Institute.

“I am honored to take on this new role and continue my contributions to Hoyt Architects,” Scarfe said. “Our firm’s dedication to design excellence and innovation inspires me every day.

“I look forward to leading our talented team as we continue to create spaces that enhance communities and push architectural boundaries.”

Scarfe joins Gary Hoyt and vice-president Chris Gallagher as the firm’s third partner.

“George embodies the spirit of innovation, collaboration and commitment that defines Hoyt Architects,” said Hoyt. “His leadership has been instrumental in shaping some of our most impactful projects. As our newest partner, his vision will play a critical role in driving our firm’s future growth and success in creating transformative spaces for the communities we serve.”

The firm’s team consists of design professionals, VR artists, program engineers and cross-disciplinary collaborators who collectively create a diverse range of architectural projects and digital twins — accurate, up-to-date virtual models of real-life places and physical entities that support informed design decisions through simulation, testing and monitoring.
