Reburn Development Partners plans $71.7 million Ft. Myers workforce housing project

Redburn Development Partners says DeAngelis Diamond will build a $71.7 million multifamily development in Ft. Myers. The 336-unit Bloom Fort Myers project at 2010 Hanson St. will be the first for the developer in the state.

“Workforce Housing is vital to a growing community and Redburn Development Partners works tirelessly to provide people with a great standard of living at valuable price point,” company principal Thomas Rossi said in a statement. “Housing must be approachable for all segments of the population. The middle is missing and often gets overlooked but is remarkably vital to the local economy.”

Redburn says it has developed over one million square feet of workforce housing, mostly in upstate New York in the past five years. The project ownership group consists of Redburn, GSI Equities and Divinity Development Partners.

“This multi-family project will be a very exciting addition to a key corridor in the City of Fort Myers” said Ft. Myers Mayor Kevin Anderson. “As our population grows and evolves, workforce housing is vital to support the folks who keep our city vibrant. The units promise to be beautiful, functional and attainable, a genuine solution to the housing demands of our city. I am enthused to see the project built and cannot wait for its opening.”

Redburn worked with the Ft. Myers Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) on a TIF rebate to help make the project possible.

“Bloom Fort Myers is exactly the kind of project CRA incentives are designed to attract, given the CRA Board’s priority to have attainable houseing developed in the City of Fort Myers” said CRA executive director Michele Hylton-Terry. “We are thrilled to welcome Bloom to Fort Myers.”

A groundbreaking is expected by the end of May, with the first phase of the property slated to be finished by late 2023.
