Phigenics’ 2018 Smart Water Leadership Summit to focus on facility water and Legionella risk management

Phigenics6th annual Smart Water Leadership Summit scheduled April 23 to 24, 2018 at Walt Disney Swan and Dolphin Resort, Orlando will feature training courses on topics related to protecting human health from Legionella while conserving resources and reducing cost.

Speaking at the summit are thought leaders in the fields of facility management; engineering; sustainability; compliance; infection prevention; research; government policy and regulation; environment, health and safety management; and related disciplines.

On April 23, Phigenics chief technology officer Dr. William McCoy will conduct a full-day training course titled “Sustainable Comprehensive Water Management Programs for the Built Environment.” Attendees will be educated on how to develop a water management program that optimizes total cost of systems by improving safety and efficiency.

“If a building water system is not both safe and efficient, then it is not sustainable,” said McCoy.

On April 24,  health care, education, hospitality, commercial real estate, government and academic leaders will present their water management case studies and best practices. Sessions will concentrate on recent water safety and efficiency guidelines, including ASHRAE 188:2015 and ASHRAE Standards 189.1.

Dr. Vincent Hsu, epidemiologist and executive director of infection prevention at Florida Hospital said, “There’s no other event like Smart Water Leadership Summit… Attendees will learn how to implement a defensible enterprise program that can be used to optimize the total cost and improve the safety and efficiency of their organization’s water systems.” Hsu will speak on the summit’s second day.

Registration is done online through the smartwaterleadership.com website. Tickets  are $795 for industry professionals, and $495 for educators and government workers.
